Press Release - South Carolina Police Accreditation Annual Training Conference

10/18/2022

Columbia, SC (Monday, October 17, 2022, at 8:00am)

The South Carolina Police Accreditation Coalition (SCPAC) will host its annual fall training conference Tuesday and Wednesday, November 29-30, 2022, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, South Carolina.

The annual conference provides an opportunity for law enforcement agencies involved in the accreditation process to network with their peers, stay current on accreditation processes, and take advantage of lessons learned from other state and national agencies.

"We have a great conference planned," stated John B. Tucker, the group's president. "We have six major sessions with exciting topics relevant to current law enforcement practices, as well as our usual Accreditation Manager Training."

The SCPAC is a non-profit organization that supports the concept of accreditation for all public safety agencies and provides an informational network for member agencies while encouraging communication, cooperation, support, and the sharing of resources and ideas.

This year's conference topics include:  Evidence Auditing (Control & Preservation); Community Engagement; the 2022 SC Police Reform Act; Communications Dispatch (Lessons Learned); the State Fusion Center; and a UAV or unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) presentation by the SC Forestry Commission.

Accreditation Manager and/or Assessor Training will also be provided, followed by group and personalized instruction on PowerDMS®.

"I encourage accreditation managers and leadership executives from each South Carolina law enforcement agency to attend this year's conference," stated John Tucker. "The topics we will cover are designed to keep you informed and improve your agency's accreditation awareness."
